BlackTrax - Jeremy's 1972 Datson 240Z

Last year we built this monster of a vintage Datsun for Jeremy with hopes that he'd get some paint and body. Our hopes came true! Shadow Bennett from Shadow Images did a one off custom paint job for this sick ride.

In mid-2008, we finished Jeremy's KA swapped 240Z. This car came with with the original inline 6 with dual carbs. We pulled it out, reconditioned the engine bay and started to mock up the motor that was built last summer for this long awaited project. Initially, Jeremy wanted to install this motor into his Datsun 2000 roadster. A last minute change of mind caught us off guard when he showed up with this 240Z. With the availability of aftermarket parts, this chassis was the better choice. This car is a BLAST to drive. Conservatively tuned at 14psi on 91 octane gas, it generates almost equal power and torque figures just like most V8's!

Engine: KA24DE from a 1991 240SX, Supertech .5mm overbore Forged Pistons, Pauter Rods, Balanced Ratating Assembly, Micopolished & Champfered Crank, BT Stage 3 Cylinder Head Port and Polish, Supertech SS Valves, Springs and Titanium Retainers, ARP Head Studs, Cometic MLS Gasket,

Transmission/Driveline: Stock 5-speed, B&M Shifter with BlackTrax Shift Knob, BT Stage 3 Clutch with Lightened 11lb Chromoly Flywheel, Custom Driveshaft, R200 Differential with Quaife LSD Installed

Induction: Garrett GT2871R "Disco Potato" Turbo, Front Mount Intercooler with Custom End Tanks, Powdercoated IC Piping & 3" Intake with K&N Cone Filter, HKS SSQV BOV, Ported Intake Manifold with Intake Air Butterflies Removed and Holes Welded.

Fuel: 500cc Injectors, 255lph Fuel Pump with custom fuel lines and filter. Reconditioned original gas tank.

Cooling: 4 Row Aluminum Radiator with Custom End Tanks and Piping, Derale 12" Slimline Fan, Custom Overflow Tank.

Ignition: Stock KA24DE Ignition System, NGK 7 series Plugs

Exhaust: Thermal Coated Equal Length Turbo Manifold and elbow pipe. Custom 3" SS Exhaust with V-band Connections to a 3" Magnaflow Turbo Muffler. 3"

Management/Electronics: AEM EMS, AFM converted to GM 3 Bar Map Sensor, Blitz Spec-S Electronic Boost Controller.

Chassis/Suspension/Brakes/Wheels: Eibach Front Coil Springs, Upgraded Front Sway Bar, Energy Suspension Poly Suspension Bushing Kit, Stock Brakes with Larger Bore Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade, Konig 15" Rims

Interior/Gauges: Autometer Tach, Speedo and Boost Gauges Fitted to Stock 240Z Dash. Original Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Amp Meter and Fuel Gauges wired to operate with the New Engine.
